Heath and Dad's trip to Colorado

We made a trip to Colorado the last part of February 1999. We stayed in a motel in Silverthorne and commuted to places of interest. We spent 3 days skiing, with two days at Keystone and 1 at Vale. On the last day of our stay we rented 2 snowmobiles from Action Rentals and trailered them to Vale Pass. The gentleman-owner of Action Rental was great to work with and this business is highly recommended. If this business changed hands since our visit, YMMV. I think Action was located in Dillon or somewhere in the general vicinity of Silverthorne. This was the highlight of the trip, roaming all over the national forest in that area. Trails were fairly well marked and there were nearly 1.5 million acres to play on. This is a trip that will be long remembered and something that we will repeat again soon. It was good to be together again. Father and son stuff is soooo important.

Here's a few choice pics of our good time. Simply click on the small image to see a larger one.

This is Heath's truck and the trailer we used to get the snowmobiles to Vale Pass. At this high altitude rests were frequent.
A real chummy photo of two good friends. Heath taking his turn at destroying the drift.
I found this really cool launch pad. We went over this no less than 50 times!! Major fun. This is Dad. The best looking young man I know.
Dad again from a different angle. I think he likes his picture taken.
A real purty view of the mountain peaks surrounding Vale Pass. The guy ain't bad lookin' neither. :) This is Keystone Base. A superb ski resort with night skiing. A guaranteed good time. It takes at least 20 minutes to ski from the top to the bottom
And here we have Keystone Peak. You are looking toward Breckenridge Resort. The altitude here was around 10k feet.
